  • Welcome to our Introduction to Computing Course, a series of one-hour sessions designed to take you from having no prior knowledge to becoming a competent user across Windows, Linux, and Mac systems. Starting with Computing 101, you will learn hardware basics like turning the computer on and off, navigating with a mouse and keyboard, and using the desktop to open simple programs. As you progress through Computing 102 and 103, you will master web browsing, searching for information, managing emails, and organizing your digital workspace by creating, saving, and managing files and folders with helpful hotkeys. Computing 104 and 105 focus on essential digital safety, teaching you how to identify secure websites, avoid scams, create strong passwords, and safely handle, send, and save email attachments. Finally, Computing 106 brings everything together with an in-class demonstration where you will combine all your new skills, build everyday proficiency, and learn how to handle various edge cases not covered in the earlier lessons.
